Hello again!

Kit & McC-2.jpg

Well, what a week it's been.  Busy busy busy.  Coffee morning on Wednesday was followed by our first attempt at Posh Ploughman's.  (Sorry, but for some reason, the terms "sharing platter" and "grazing boards" make me gag.)  Anyhow, they were a great success.  I made courgette bread and sausage rolls, and nobody died.  Phew.  Huge thanks to Maggie who not only suggested it in the first place, but did 50% of the work AND washed everything up afterwards.

Then the heavens may have emptied their washing water on Saturday, but that didn't stop plenty of folk turning up to watch the Lions Match in the Beer Garden.  And on Sunday, a lovely couple from Bicester held a very stylish Christening party in the garden which Chris and Abbey executed BEAUTIFULLY whilst still serving Sunday lunches.  And Dangerous Dave rushed to the rescue with a plumbing problem.   So proud of the team!

Because I am a rubbish photographer, I failed to get a picture of the marvellous balloon arch. You'll just have to take my word for it that it was fab.

The big news this week is the joyous fact that our team is going to be  joined by Christine Martin who for many years was Cook at the Butcher's Arms in Fringford for the legendary - and much missed - Pat.  We're thrilled.  She'll be cooking lunches on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - simple fare, but hearty and delicious.

And - be still my beating heart - Steak Night on Friday!  Steaks from Gosses, of course.  Only the best!

Two more things - tickets for Kit & McConnel are going very well, so do make sure you get yours.  And after the lovely comments we got for the Table Tennis Tournament, we're planning another on 5th September.  Slightly different rules this time.

Meanwhile, the dreaded virus is still around.  We're not asking staff or customers to wear masks now that the Government have relaxed the rules - after all, the pub is somewhere we go to relax.  But if you want to wear a mask, we absolutely respect your right to do so.  And if you would like Table Service, you only have to ask.  We will also be keeping up with regular sanitising and hand washing - we don't only want YOU to feel safe, we want to feel safe too.
