On 14 May 2010 we lit the fire in the pub as usual, but after 15 minutes there was a whooshing sound and the fire roared loudly with huge flames.  Frank had just popped home (for a jumper as he was cold!).  We ran outside and out of the chimney there were massive flames.  The fire brigade was called and two engines arrived within 15 minutes, with a further called by the firemen when they saw it was a thatched roofed building. 

 

Over four hours later we were allowed back into the pub.   What a day!
